Kelsey Deitz Guth, O.D.

Dr. Kelsey Deitz Guth graduated summa cum laude with her biology degree from Virginia Tech and graduated with honors while earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed an externship at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, followed by a Pediatrics and Vision Therapy residency at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, focusing on vision disorders such as amblyopia, strabismus, convergence insufficiency, and learning-related vision problems.

Dr. Guth has a passion for helping others and building relationships with patients and their families by providing thorough and compassionate eye care to patients of all ages. She especially enjoys the pediatric population and those with special needs that may require a little extra care. She is also devoted to helping kids with progressing myopia and has been named as one of two Change Agents in Virginia, working to elevate the standard of care in children with myopia.

Dr. Guth is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVRDA). She is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Virginia Optometric Association (VOA), and the Tidewater Optometric Society (TOS).

In 2025, she was honored to receive the Distinguished Achievement Award given by the VOA for her contributions to the field.

Originally from Manassas, Virginia, Dr. Guth has resided in Williamsburg since 2016 with her husband Matt and dog Mabel, and now with their son Emerson and daughter Henley. In her free time, she cherishes the time she is able to spend with her family. She also enjoys traveling, reading, group fitness classes, and all things Harry Potter and Virginia Tech.
